EvoPlayer ("the App") is a media player application that allows users to connect to their own media server. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Device Information

When you use the App, the following device information is transmitted to your configured server for device management and authentication purposes:

• Device identifier (Android ID)
• Device model, manufacturer, and brand
• Android operating system version
• Screen resolution and display density
• App version
• Device storage and memory information
• IP address
• Device type (TV, mobile, or tablet)

Server Login Credentials

The App requires an activation code to connect to your server, and login credentials provided by your server administrator. These are not app accounts — they are credentials for your external media server. These credentials are:

• Stored locally on your device in encrypted form
• Transmitted securely (HTTPS) to your configured server for authentication

Usage Data (Stored Locally)

The following data is stored on your device:

• Viewing history and watch progress
• Favorites and bookmarks
• DVR recording metadata
• App preferences and settings

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Name, email address, or phone number
• Location or GPS data
• Contacts, photos, or files
• Payment or financial information
• Advertising identifiers
• Browsing history outside the App

3. How Your Information Is Used

The information collected is used solely for:

• Authenticating your device with your configured server
• Device management and licensing
• Providing and improving the media playback experience
• Enabling features such as DVR recording and reminders

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties. All data is transmitted only between the App and the server you have configured. The App contains no advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or third-party data collection services.

The App uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to retrieve movie and TV show metadata (posters, descriptions, ratings). No personal data is sent to TMDB.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Login credentials are encrypted locally using AES-256 encryption
• All communication with your configured server uses HTTPS
• No data is stored on our servers — all data resides on your device or your configured server

6. Data Deletion

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the App. To request deletion of data stored on your configured server, please contact your server administrator directly.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Content Disclaimer

EvoPlayer does not provide, host, or control any media content. The App is a player that displays content from sources you configure. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to access any content viewed through the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
